The invention relates to a device for determining the deformation of a specimen in mechanical fracture and creep tests by converting the relative movement between various measurement points on the specimen into an electrical variable by means of a supporting structure (2) which rests on a reference plane (1) and on which the stressed specimen (3) is braced against the test force (5) by means of thrust rollers (4).
