In the measurement method, a urine sample, for example a 12h to 24h urine, of a subject undergoes a frequency response analysis by means of AC-impedance spectroscopy and is examined for the presence of a urine discrimination, which indicate lithogenesis or a tendency to lithogenesis, specifically and preferably in the frequency range between 0.01 Hz and 100 kHz. The device consists, as known per se, of a preferably computer-assisted AC-impedance measuring unit which in turn is composed of a potentiostat and a Lockin amplifier, and of a heatable, non-electrically conducting measuring vessel to receive the urine sample to be examined, which unit is equipped with measuring electrodes and a stirrer for non-turbulent stirring of the urine during the measuring procedure.
