The invention relates to a scanning arrangement for heterodyne laser radars of the generic type of Claim 1, in the case of which slow scanning of the overall field of view is made possible and, in consequence, the scanning complexity for such laser apparatuses is considerably reduced, despite a high number of pixels for the scanner which is used jointly by the transmitter and receiver and has a large aperture. This is achieved by means of a fast small-angle scanner having local-oscillator optics, as a result of which the transmission and local-oscillater laser beams scan the receiver field of view at a suitably fast rate and synchronously using beam focusing which is narrower than that appropriate to the instantaneous receiver field of view.
