Arrangement for increasing resolution in a microscope, especially a laser scanning microscope, whereby the illumination light originates from a non-classical light source for generation of N temporally and spatially correlated photons, where N is an even number using photons of a pump wavelength. A heterodyne detection arrangement is placed is the microscope beam path in order to detect photons reflected and back-scattered from the sample. The invention also relates to a corresponding method.
