Plate element and packing, especially for cooling tower film-cooling internal fittings and process for producing them. Known plate elements are not yet stable and resistant enough. The object of the invention lies in creating a plate element that is simple and inexpensive to produce and has higher strength for the same cooling effect. The plate element consists of a plastic material web with a multiplicity of perforations, especially a network structure. It is preferably made of GFG material.
