The apparatus makes possible the actuation of the front dérailleur with the aid of an operating lever (20) which is arranged rotatably on a bearing part (3), both with locking in the different positions of the operating lever and without such locking, a frictional opposing force being active in the latter case. The respective type of function is selected by actuation of a hoop nut (40), which effects an axial displacement of the operating lever and of a part of the locking means. IMAGE
