Process for the preparation of halogenated tertiary allyl esters by reaction of an alkali metal salt of a carboxylic acid with a halogenated primary and/or tertiary allyl halide or its mixtures in the presence of a catalyst consisting of a cuprous halide combined with a quaternary ammonium salt or with a phosphonium salt and the halogentated tertiary allyl esters thus obtained.
