Incremental or absolute coder apparatus for the conversion of an encoder disk displacement into directly exploitable information. It consists of the combination firstly of a rotary encoder disk 7, then of a static printed circuit 1 carrying one or more emitters 2 and one or more receivers 3, 4, 5 of infrared rays, and finally of a protective casing 8 with reflective upper internal wall 9 ensuring the alignment of the light rays 10 on the receivers. It is intended to allow, through a physical displacement, a conversion into a binary value directly understandable to a computer or the like (or any logic device). IMAGE
