Adhesive composition with improved heat behaviour and its application to the bonding of components, especially of structural components, to each other

Adhesive composition consisting of a solution of an elastomeric polymer in a liquid phase consisting of at least one acrylic monomer and optionally of at least one nonacrylic unsaturated monomer, the said solution also containing a system capable of generating free radicals when it is activated. The elastomeric polymer is a hydrogenated elastomeric copolymer of at least C3 to C5 acrylic nitrile with at least one C4 to C8 acyclic or cyclic diene and optionally one or a number of vinyl or acrylic additional monomers, the said hydrogenated copolymer having a number-average molecular mass higher than 5,000 and a degree of hydrogenation higher than 80 %. The adhesive composition has an improved heat behaviour and can be employed in particular for producing adhesive bonding of structural components.
