The subject of the invention relates to a portable mobile shelter for instantaneously putting personnel fighting forest fires to safety. It consists of a folding lightweight enclosure which is transportable and fireproof and is combined, firstly, with a structure for instantaneously opening out for installation, then of openings with rapid-action leaktight closing members 10, 11, 12 and an observation window 20 containing an air reserve 16 which can be used at will. It is intended to enable a team which finds itself far away from its base to shelter temporarily and immediately in the event of a sudden change in wind direction, from a burning environment or from smoke.
