TITANIUM KEY EXCELLENT IN ABRASION RESISTANCE

摘要

PURPOSE: To enhance abrasion resistance by forming a titanium alloy plate into a key shape, and also forming a TiN layer on the surface of the key by giving a nitriding treatment to the key. CONSTITUTION: A titanium key is formed by working a titanium alloy plate into a key shape. Then, after measuring the hardness of the surface of the titanium key, it is put in a heating furnace to be heated at about 850 deg.C, and furthermore, NH3 gas is introduced therein in order to form a TiN layer on the surface of the key.
