PURPOSE:To keep the relative relation of an original image and to display a monochromatic image with luminance which corresponds to the luminance of the image by allocating a prescribed hue in correspondence to the luminance ot respective parts to be digitalized to an integer number for the value of the luminance of the monochromatic original image. CONSTITUTION:For the quantity ot an RGB each 256 gradation CRGB, an image displaying device to have the displaying ability of the interger number value of 0=R, G, B=255 is used. Then, when the relation of Y=0.30R+0.59G+0.11B is established between the quantity of the RGB and luminance Y, with the monochromatic original image (R=G=B) in which the value of the digitalized luminance is the integer number of 0-255, the part to be expressed by the luminance Y is displayed in a color, which has a hue determined by the value of a remainder N which is obtained when the Y is divided by a constant M, while the relative relation of the luminance is held. The changing range of the whole luminance is reduced with a constant rate so that the luminance, which is obtained by the original image, can be expressed within the range of the determined hue and saturation.
