BODY WITH NON-STREAMLINE TYPE BASE SECTION AND OVERLAND CAR

PURPOSE: To lower the base resistance while preventing the generation of peeling of a boundary layer in a flowing direction in a moving body having an unstreamlined downstream end by arranging a plate member continuously provided with plural U-shaped valleys in the downstream end. CONSTITUTION: An upper and a lower surfaces 32, 34 of a moving body 30 are respectively formed with plural valleys 40, 42 extended downstream. Each valley 40, 42 is practically formed into a U-shape with a view from a cross section vertical to the downstream, and formed so that the depth thereof is gradually increased from a corresponding inlet 43 to an unstreamlined stripe surface 44. Each valley 40, 42 is formed into a shape with a dimension capable of preventing the generation of peeling of a boundary layer in the flowing direction in the valley over the whole length of the valleys, and an outlet 45 of the valley at the end surface 44 is formed with amplitude. This structure is used for an upper trunk surface 102 of an automobile and a lower surface 104 of a vehicle so as to improve the aerodynamic characteristic.
