METHOD FOR ENHANCING LIGHT FASTNESS OF DYED WOOL ARTICLE

PURPOSE: To improve the light fastness of a wool dyed product dyed with an acid mordant dye by treating it with a copper compound and an excess organic amine capable of forming a complex with the copper compound. CONSTITUTION: The light fastness of a wool dyed product dyed with an acid mordant dye by a conventional means is improved by spraying it with a treatment solution containing (A) a copper compound (e.g. copper sulfate, copper acetate) and (B) an excess organic amine capable of forming a complex with the copper compound (e.g. ethanolamine, diethanolamine) in the weight ratio A/B of, for example, (1:20) to (1:40) followed by drying; or by immersing it in the treatment solution followed by squeezing without washing with water and then drying.
