PURPOSE:To automatically and easily execute the highly accurate positional adjustment of laser beams by arranging a collimater optical system consisting of two lens members and allowing a 2nd lens member having a larger focal distance to be moved. CONSTITUTION:The collimater optical system consists of a 1st lens member 3 and the 2nd lens member 4 arranged in front of the member 3 and having the absolute value of a focal distance longer than that of the member 3 and a laser beam 2 is converted into parallel beams by both the lenses 3, 4. Since the optical system is also provided with a position detecting means 9, a moving means 12 for the 2nd lens member 4 and a control means 13, the moving distance of the lens member necessary for the adjustment of the laser beam can be increased and the position can be easily and highly accurately adjusted.
