POSITION CORRECTION FIXING METHOD OF HALF ARCH FOR CONSTITUTING ARCH RING IN ARCH BRIDGE

PURPOSE: To correct an offset between semi-arch ends by connecting upper shoes freely rotationally to lower shoes, securing the lower shoes to arch abutments on both banks, and extending jacks after each semi-arch on the upper shoes is lowered and rotated. CONSTITUTION: Upper shoes 1 are connected to lower shoes 2 in such a way as to be freely rotatable and elevatable relative to the lower shoes 2, so as to constitute a rotating bearing 4. The lower shoes 2 are secured to arch abutments 6 on both banks, and after each semi-arch 6 is constructed on the tops of the upper shoes 1, it is lowered and rotated up to an arch ring erecting position. Next, an offset between the ends of the semi-arches 6 is corrected by means of jacks 7 interposed between each side of the rear end of each semi- arch 6 and each arch abutment 5. Thus, the offset can be corrected easily and quickly.
