PURPOSE:To establish a measurement method useful for diagnosis of various cancers, more particularly urinary organ cancers as well as observation of the process of treatments, etc., by using an immunological assay method, for example, an enzyme immunoassay (EIA) method by a sandwich method. CONSTITUTION:The immunological assay method based in the antigen-antibody reaction using an anti-BFP antibody, for example, the enzyme immunoassay method by the sandwich method is used in the measurement of the basic fetal protein (BFP) in the urine. The anti-BFP antibody consists of a 1st monoclonal antibody and 2nd monoclonal antibody which are respectively different in specificity. The antibody producing cells are first prepd. from BALB/C mouse sensitized with BFP and the cell fusion with P3-X63-Ag8-U1 is executed by using the same as a myeloma cell in order to obtain the above-mentioned anti-BFP monoclonal antibodies. The antibody value from the selected fused sells is then measured by a plate banding assay using the BFP labeled with 125I. Finally, the respective cell strains are transplanted to the abdominal cavity of the mouse and the resultant ascites are subjected to ammonia sulfate salting out and dialysis; thereafter, the IgG components are gathered.
