MISWRITE PREVENTING SYSTEM FOR MAGNETIC TAPE

PURPOSE:To avoid the erroneous breakdown of data even though a write ring is loaded wrong by instructing the necessity or unnecessity for output of a magnetic tape and checking the coincidence with the actual loading state of the ring of the tape with a magnetic tape device when a job is started. CONSTITUTION:At execution of a job, a user uses an output propriety designating means 3 to decide whether a writing action is permitted or not to the magnetic tape used to said job. While a ring loading detection means 2 checks whether a ring is loaded or not to the magnetic tape set to a magnetic tape device 1. A process execution deciding means 5 checks the coincidence between the check result of the means 2 and the propriety for the write designated by the means 3. When this coincidence is confirmed, the process is normally continued. If no coincidence is detected, the process is carried out based on the previous designation of an action designating means 4 for error detection time. Thus the data are never broken down even though the write ring is loaded wrong.
