PURPOSE:To obtain the subject unit, having a driving cam connected to a suspension profile and driving profile of a tuck-in needle through one common grooved cam and capable of miniaturizing a selvaging apparatus without requiring an increase in the number of driving cams. CONSTITUTION:When a cam follower 33 is brought into slide contact and connected to a suspension profile 28 of a driving cam 21 by a changeover mechanism 23, a tuck-in needle 2 is suspended so as to take up a thread. When the cam follower 33 is brought into slide contact and engaged with a driving profile 29 of the driving cam by the changeover mechanism 23, the tuck-in needle 2 is driven so as to take up the thread.
