SYSTEM FOR MEASURING SOFTWARE DESIGN CHARACTERISTIC

PURPOSE:To efficiently attain the maintenance operation of a program by clarifying quantitatively characteristics on the inclusive relation of branch, repetition and sequence and the number, and indicating a risky place and the risk. CONSTITUTION:A measuring part 2 quantitatively measures the mutual inclusive relation and independent relation of respective connection elements consisting of branch, repetition and sequence, and the number on data structure in a software design description part 1, and an analysis part 3 analyzes the characteristics of respective measured parts. A result which a risk indicating pat 4 has analyzed is quantitatively expressed as a structure characteristic on the inclusive relation and independent relation of branch, repetition and sequence and the number. When the inclusive relation multiplexed for more than a prescribed value or the number are detected, the part showing such characteristics is indicated in terms of degree as a risk part, and the indicated result is displayed in a display part 5. Thus, the maintenance operation of the program is efficiently attained since the risk part of software design can be corrected in a stage prior to program control.
