REMOTE CONTROLLER POSITION DETECTOR FOR VIDEO CAMERA

PURPOSE:To operate a video camera by a person himself to be photographed by connecting a main body support part and a main body by a rotating body, receiving the output of a remote controller position detecting signal photodetecting means and adding a remote control position detecting function to the video camera in a camera system for directing the central axis of the main body to a remote controller. CONSTITUTION:Photodetecting elements 21, 22, 23 are fixed with mounting directions respectively changed, have a narrow directivity by a reflector 24 and the optical directivity of respective receiving sensitivities as 21', 22', 23'. Accordingly, the directional characteristic of an infrared ray from the remote controller can be decided by the output current level of the photodetecting elements 21, 22, 23. A photodetecting part 2 is mounted on the video camera 30 and the video camera 30 is fixed to a tripod 32 through a motor 31. When the person 33 to be photographed operates the remote controller 1, the photodetecting part 2 detects the direction of the remote controller 1, detects the difference of an angle from the central axis of the video camera 30, rotates the motor 31 and directs the central axis of the video camera 30 to the direction of the video camera 30.
