EMERGENCY COOLANT INJECTOR FOR NUCLEAR REACTOR

PURPOSE: To eliminate the need for starting an alternative power supply in order to switch the function to an emergency core cooling system during coolant missing fault by coupling a condensate pump with an auxiliary generator continuously when a turbine generator is in transient decelerating state during fault. CONSTITUTION: Even if a main generator 30 does not operate and disconnected completely from the main power supply 50 of power planar during coolant inventory missing failure, an auxiliary generator 34 generates power continuously with decelerating momentum available through coupling with the axle and a condensate pump 18 is operated continuously. Coolant begins to flow into the core immediately after the pressure in core reaches a level lower than that at the block head of condensate pump. Such a flow from the outlet of condensate pump 18 passes through a pipe line 22 and a check valve 120 and enters directly into a reactor vessel and it takes place quicker than conventional one.
