EVALUATING METHOD FOR DIMENSIONAL PRECISION OF BODY OF AUTOMOBILE

PURPOSE:To conduct an accurate evaluation without being affected by the positioning precision of a car body, by a method wherein a measured coordinate value is converted into a car line coordinate value based on an opening-closing body fitting reference plane on a car line coordinate system and then it is compared with design data. CONSTITUTION:A measurer 1 having a laser displacement gage 2 with a mirror is constructed as a measuring robot having the freedom of three axes in total, two axes of straight lines and one axis of rotation. Data outputted from the displacement gage 2 are inputted to a virtual point calculating device 10 and converted into a specified measured coordinate value. An output of the virtual point calculating device 10 is inputted to a data processing device 11 and converted into a car line coordinate value based on a window glass fitting reference plane. Then, pitch sizes l1-l4 of a window glass opening part and outlines Ca-Cd of each side are compared mutually, the results of comparison thereof are outputted, and statistical processings of the dimensions of an overall form of a car body are conducted.
