MECHANICAL TRANSLATING DEVICE INTO JAPANESE LANGUAGE

PURPOSE:To decrease unnatural translations due to the handling of subjects by excluding only duplicate subjective cases except the one set at the sentence head and producing translated words for each word in an original sentence in case the duplicate subjective cases of the same person are included in the same sentence. CONSTITUTION:A 1st translation main body 6 uses a translation dictionary 4 and an analysis grammar 5 to analyze each original sentence and adds dictionary information on structural relation, etc., to each word of the original sentences. While a 2nd translation main body 7 checks based on said processing result whether the duplicate subjective cases of the same person are included in the same sentence or not. If so, only the duplicate subjective cases except the one set at the sentence head are excluded and the translated word is given to each of other words of the original sentence. In such a way, the duplicate subjective cases are never translated repetitively in case English language, etc., are translated into Japanese language. Then more natural Japanese translations are obtained.
