PRODUCTION OF HALOGENATED ALKANE SULFONYL AND ALKANE SULFONIC ACID

摘要

PURPOSE: To produce an alkanesulfonyl halide and an alkanesulfonic acid without producing unnecessary by-products, by electrolyzing and oxidizing a specified sulfur compd. in a water-based medium containing hydrohalogenic acid and continuously taking out the oxide product. ;CONSTITUTION: A sulfur compd. expressed by RSX such as methane thiol, ethane thiol, propane thiol, butane thiol (wherein, X is a halogen or SR' radical and R and R' are alkyl groups having 1 to 20 carbon atoms) is electrolyzed and oxidized in a continuous flow method in a water-based medium containing hydrohalogenic acid which contains 8 to 38wt.% hydrochloric acid under conditions of 0.02 to 1A/cm² current density. The electrolyzed product mixture is continuously discharged from the electrolyte to obtain a halogenated alkanesulfonic acid expressed by RSO₂Y (where Y is Cl or Br) and alkane sulfonic acid expressed by RSO₂H (wherein, R is an alkyl group of 1 to 20 carbon atoms) with a good yield for the source material.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO
