TREATMENT OF EDGE PART, CONNECTING PART OR THE LIKE OF CLAD STEEL

PURPOSE:To improve the corrosion resistance of the edge part, connecting part or the like of clad steel obtd. by cladding iron with a nobler metal than iron, by thermally spraying the same metal as the nobler metal on the edge part or the like at a low temp. and applying synthetic resin paint. CONSTITUTION:Iron 1 is clad with a nobler metal 2 than iron and the same metal as the metal 2 is thermally sprayed on the edge part of the resulting clad steel at a low temp. to form a film 4. The nobler metal 2 may be Cr, Ti, Ni or an alloy of such metals. Synthetic resin paint such as bisphenol type epoxy resin paint is then applied to the film 4 to form a paint film 5 having about 25-1,000mum thickness on dry basis. Thus, the corrosion resistance of the exposed part of the clad steel such as the edge part is improved.
