PURPOSE:To enhance the ammonia absorption efficiency of a desulfurizing soln. and further to enhance the controllability of the ammonia concentration in the desulfurizing soln., by converting an ammonia vapor discharged from an ammonia rectifying column into a condensate and feeding the condensate to desulfurizing equipment. CONSTITUTION:An ammonia vapor from an ammonia rectifying column 1 is cooled in a heat exchanger 3 to form a condensate and temporarily stored in a tank 4. The condensate is fed from the tank 4 into ammonia-TAKAHAX desulfurization equipment through a control valve 5. Since ammonia is transferred and added to the desulfurization equipment 2 after conversion into a liq., an alkaline component can be fed irrespective of the rate of absorption of ammonia in the desulfurization equipment 2. This cam lower the ammonia concentration at the outlet of the desulfurization equipment 2 and therefore enables a reduction in the production of ammonium sulfate. Further, this method is not influenced by the rate of absorption of ammonia, and the amt. of feed of ammonia component can be determined more accurately, which enhances the controllability of the ammonia concentration.
