PURPOSE:To obtain a baked film layer with high adherence and airtightness by mixing potassium titanic acid fibers as an effective constituent into the high-temperature oxidation preventing paint for electrode. CONSTITUTION:This paint is constituted of silicon carbide 40-75wt.%, a heat radiation auxiliary 15-45wt.%, an additive increasing the adherence and inter- paint film bonding strength 10-35wt.%. metal powder 5-20wt.%, a baking auxiliary 2-50wt.%, a melting point depressant 3-7wt.%, and potassium titanic acid fibers as an aggregate to increase the inter-paint film bonding strength 3-20wt.%, the total of these constituents is 100wt.%. The high-temperature oxidation preventing paint giving a baked film layer with the high adherence and airtightness to a graphite electrode for steel making is thereby obtained.
