APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR C. W. M. PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To facilitate conversion of coal into high-concn. C.W.M., by combining a floating material separator utilizing specific gravity difference and a dehydrating/ deaerating apparatus with a verical cylindrical body having disposed in the center thereof a rotor provided with a spiral fixed blade. CONSTITUTION:Coal 11, water 12, a surfactant and a foaming agent 13 are fed from the top of a cylindrical body 1 having disposed in the center thereof a rotor 20 provided with a spiral fixed blade. Air 15 is blown into the body through the bottom and the rotor 20 is revolved, thereby performing flotation. In the top of the cylindrical body 1, pulverized coal adsorbed to bubbles are collected, and in the bottom, ash is separated and sedimented. The pulverized coal/air bubbles in the top are transferred through an outlet port 17 to a floating material separator 2, wherein gravity separation is performed. Heavy untreated particles are discharged through an outlet port 22, and returned, entrained on air, through a receiving port 16 into the body 1. The pulverized coal/air bubbles in the top are transferred through a connecting pipe 21 to a dehydrating/deaerating apparatus 3. Dehydration/deaeration is performed by the action of a vibrator 51. High-concn. C.W.M. is sedimented and collected in the middle section of the apparatus, and discharged out of the apparatus through an outlet port 32 as a product. Excess water is discharged through a water extraction port 33 and air through an air extraction port 31.
