GRADE AND CLASS SCREENING DEVICE FOR CITRUS FRUITS

PURPOSE:To enable exact grade and class screening by forming spiral fins to one of a pair of rollers, transferring citrus fruits while helically rotating the fruits on the roller and photographing the citrus fruits in the helical rotating state. CONSTITUTION:The spiral fins 30 are formed on the outside peripheral face of either one of a carrying conveyor formed of a pair of the rollers 18. The citrus fruits 16 are placed on the parts between a pair of the rollers and are helically rotated and transferred by rotation of the fins 30. The citrus fruits carried on the conveyor are photographed by cameras 31, 32. The defective parts of the outside shapes or surfaces of the citrus fruits are measured in accordance with the videos of the citrus fruits taken by the cameras and the grade and class screening of the citrus fruits is executed in a video processor 34. As a result, the dead angles at the time of the photographing are eliminated and the shapes or discolored defective parts of the citrus fruits are exactly investigated.
