RATCHET TYPE HAND TOOL EMPLOYING AUTOMATIC QUICK MATING/UNMATING APPARATUS

PURPOSE: To hold an electric wire at the proper position and surely apply a reliable crimp to it with a die by rotatably fitting a quick fitting/removing member to a ratchet member in a hand tool that the ratchet member is rotated and a ram makes linear motion between the open position and closure position. CONSTITUTION: When a handle 90 is moved, a quick fitting/removing member 60 is also moved forward, a ratchet member 30 isrotated, and a ram 18 and a die 4 are moved toward a block 14 and a die 6 by this rotation. The ratchet member 30 is prevented from reverse rotation by the coupling of a lock pawl 36 and lock teeth 50. When the handle 90 is again moved between the open position and closure position, the quick fitting/removing member 60 is released from coupling, the ratchet member 30 is forcibly rotated, and a terminal is crimped to an electric wire. The terminal is accurately held in the proper direction, and it can be crimped to the electric wire with reliability.
