PURPOSE:To enable the increase of the selling efficiency by a method wherein the selling price or this price and the tax amount are computed from a weight signal of an article to be weighed, a unit price signal thereof and a tax rate signal every time when the article is weighed. CONSTITUTION:Signals are inputted to CPU 10 from a keyboard 5, and further an analog weight signal of a weighing element 3 is converted into weight data by an A/D converter 12 and then inputted to CPU 10. In addition to the above, a PLU memory 13 and an addition memory 14 are connected to CPU 10. In the memory 13, the unit prices, tax rates and names of a plurality of articles to be weighed are stored in correspondence respectively. The memory 14 is provided for storing the amount, tax amount and weight in total and has an amount region, a tax amount region and a weight region. CPU 10 processes input signals in accordance with a program of a program memory 11 while executing transmission and reception of data to and from the memory 13 and the memory 14, and outputs the results of its processing in such a form enabling the visual recognition thereof as displaying same in a display element 4 or printing it by a printer element 6.
