PURPOSE:To obtain a material suitable for dental mechanical work at ambient temp. and having a proper curing time and a shape retentivity after curing, by mixing a plasticizer with polyvinyl chloride being a main component to prepare a plastic mixture and curing said mixture under heating. CONSTITUTION:A liquid plasticizer such as dioctyl phthalate is mixed with polyvinyl chloride being a main component to prepare a plastic mixture and a spacer 14 having a thickness of about 1mm is formed to a back mount material region (entire back surface in a complete denture) on a jaw model 11 from said mixture. This spacer 14 is molded at ambient temp. and subsequently allowed to stand in a heating atmosphere of about 100-130 deg.C for about 3-5min and cured by the spraying of hot air by a dryer, the hot water in a pressure vessel or heating due to steam. Wax 15 is built up on the cured spacer to form a denture impression. By this method, a desired shape and a desired thickness can be easily set by manual work and a working time can be sufficiently taken because the plastic mixture is not cured at ambient temp. and curing is easy and the work is simplified.
