PURPOSE:To develop a nonmagnetic and inexpensive alloy having superior wear resistance and corrosion resistance, by using an Ni-base alloy with a specific composition as an alloy for cladding by thermal spraying. CONSTITUTION:As an alloy for cladding by thermal spraying for use in the sliding parts, etc., of various structural members, a powdered alloy prepared by subjecting an Ni-base alloy having a composition consisting of, by weight, 1-15% Cr, 1-4% B, 1-4% Si, 0.1-2% Mn, 1-5% Co, 0.05-1.0%, in total, of Ta and/or Hf, and the balance Ni or further containing 0.1-4% Mo and/or W or 0.1-3% V independently or in combination to melting and then to pulverizing by an Ar gas atomizing method is used. By this method, the nonmagnetic alloy powder for cladding by thermal spraying reduced in the content of expensive Co as compared with the conventional one and excellent in wear resistance and corrosion resistance can be inexpensively manufactured.
