NC DATA GENERATING METHOD FOR AREA WORKING

PURPOSE:To perform efficient working without grinding projecting parts in a non-working area neither unnecessarily moving a tool by generating data in accordance with which the tool is pulled up by a prescribed extent at the end point of a working path and is moved on the non-working area and is returned to the working state at the start point of the next working path. CONSTITUTION:An operator inputs data which prescribes a first manner of movement from a path to another (interpath movement data) and data which prescribes a second manner of movement across a non-working area AR (data of paths over mountains) from a keyboard 101. A processor 102 outputs a first point (grinding point) P0 of a dot string path PTi in a working area in accordance with this data input and starts output of grinding points (generates NC data) along the path PTi hereafter. If the non-working area AR exists across plural paths PTi, such data is generated that the tool is pulled up by a prescribed extent at a path end point, for example, Q1 before the area AR and traverses the area AR in this state and is moved to a position just above a path start point Q2 of the next grinding area and is moved from the start point Q2 along a dot string path PTi+2 to perform working.
