PURPOSE:To improve the wear resistance of an Fe-base sintered alloy specified in the contents of C, Cr, and Mo under a high surface pressure and the lower the attacking property to a mating material by specifying the content of the double carbide of Fe and Cr dispersed in the above-mentioned alloy and the theoretical density ratio thereof. CONSTITUTION:This Fe-base sintered alloy consists, by weight, of 3.1-5.5% C, 5-35% Cr, and 1-20% Mo, consists of the balance Fe and has the structure in which 35-70vol.% carbide essentially consisting of the double carbide of Fe and Cr is dispersed as well as =97% theoretical density ratio. 0.1-10% W and/or 0.1-5% =one kinds among Ti, Zr, Hf, V, Nb, and Ta and/or 0.1-10% =one kinds of Co and Ni may be incorporated into the above- mentioned compsn. This Fe-base sintered alloy does not generate scuff friction and pitching, exhibits a good wear surface and excellent wear resistance and does not attack the mating member.
