PURPOSE:To facilitate detection of the occurrence of step-out for sure, by judging that the magnet coupling is stepped out in case electric energy supplied to the motor is found suddenly reduced. CONSTITUTION:A magnet 3 on drive side rotated and driven by a motor 2 right under the base of an incubation vessel 1 and a magnet 5 on driven side with an agitation blade 4 secured just above the base are provided face to face each other. The electric energy supplied to the motor 2 for rotating and driving the magnet on drive side is controlled depending on the torque necessary for rotating the magnet 3 on dive side. In case the electric energy is found suddenly reduced, it is judged that the step-out occurred and the motor 2 is caused to stop once. After the phases of both magnets are coincided, the motor 2 is rerotated in a rotating speed lower than that before the step-out.
