SETTLING AND SEPARATING MECHANISM FOR ANAEROBIC BIOLOGICAL REACTION DEVICE

PURPOSE:To separate sludge flocs to gas and sludge and to return the sludge to a reaction device by disposing partition plates to the upper part of the reaction device, forming gas lift tubes to the upper part of the partition plates, and providing a gravity settling tank to the side part thereof and and aperture for returning the sludge to the lower part thereof. CONSTITUTION:A settling and separating mechanism 3 consisting of the partition plates 4, 4 disposed to face each other in an approximate V shape, the gas lift tubes 5, 5 connected thereto and a clarifying zone 6, etc., constituted of plate bodies 7, 7 in the upper part thereof is provided to the upper part of the reaction device 2. The gravity settling tank 8 which is formed to the side part of the plates 4, an inclined plate 10 which is disposed above the same and the aperture 11 for returning the sludge which is positioned in the lower part of the tank 8 and is disposed between the lower part of the plates 4 and the device 1 are provided. As a result, the sludge flocs raised by the metabolyzing gas or upward current are efficiently separated to the gas and sludge in the zone 6. The sludge flocs are gravity-settled by the circulating flow and is returned again to the reaction device.
