TREATMENT OF DISTILLATION RESIDUE OF LOW-CLASS DISTILLED SPIRITS

PURPOSE:To recover and utilize an effective component, by diluting a separated supernatant liquid and treating the diluted liquid with activated carbon to absorb and remove protein or the like. CONSTITUTION:Distillation residue 1 of low-class distilled spirits is supplied to a centrifugal separator 2 and centrifugally separated into a cake 4 and a supernatant liquid 3. The cake 4 is utilized as feed. The supernatant liquid 3 is sent to an absorbing tank 5 packed with activated carbon to absorb and remove BOD and COD components such as fats contained in the supernatant liquid 3. In absorption and removal, it is pref. that a part of a filtrate 6 is recirculated to the absorbing tank 5 as recirculation water 7 to dilute the supernatant liquid 3 sent to the absorbing tank 5 to lower the viscosity thereof and the diluted liquid is treated with activated carbon. By this method, running cost can be reduced.
