DISTANCE MEASURING APPARATUS FOR RELATIVELY MOVING TWO SURFACES FACING EACH OTHER

PURPOSE: To measure and adjust the gap between two ground surfaces accurately by housing a transducer with three legs in the housing of one grinding surface and providing coils for magnetic field and for wear measurement. CONSTITUTION: A stainless housing 22 is disposed at a recess 18 of a fixed side member 10 with a grinding surface 14 and a transducer T is housed in it. The transducer T consists of three legs and a connection part, polar pieces P1 -P3 with the same quality as the grinding surface are formed, a coil 32 or magnetic field and a secondary coil winding coil 34 are wound around a core 30. In this configuration, when an AC power supply is supplied to the coil 32, an electrical signal proportional to the gap is outputted to the coil 34. Therefore, since the transducer T is protected by the housing 22, the gap can be measured and adjusted stably and reliably.
