PURPOSE:To obtain the almost equal result of a design even when a developer is different, to promote the standardization of correspondence between the design and the function of an icon and to improve the operativity of a system by suitably editing the constituting element of the icon prepared in advance and designing the icon. CONSTITUTION:The titled device is provided with constituting element storing means 5a and 5b to store the constituting element of the icon, an information input means to input information to select and correct the constituting element of the icon, a constituting element editing means 2 to edit the constituting element, an edited result storing means 5c to store an edited result by this constituting element editing means and a display means 1 to display the edited result. For example, the icon is classified to an object type, operation type and the fusion type of the object and the operation, and further, the object type is classified to a human type and a machine type to show a hardware, a software and a firmware. Thus, the constituting element of the icon prepared in advance is suitably edited, the icon can be designed and even when a developer is different, the result of the design is almost equal.
