METHOD FOR REGENERATING FLUIDIZED BED CATALYST FOR PHTHALIC ANHYDRIDE PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To reduce a production cost of phthalic anhydride by carrying an active component again after washing a catalyst poisoned by an iron compound and removing that iron compound. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst whose catalytic activity is reduced by poisoning of an iron compound is washed with dilute sulfuric acid. A degree of washing is specified for a residual iron of 0.4wt.% or below. An active component is carried again by use of an adsorption method, a pore-filling method, etc. By these procedures, a catalyst can be regenerated at a low cost.
