APPARATUS FOR CONNECTING CATHETER, PERFUSION UNIT AND FLASK OF LIQUID TO BE PERFUSED

PURPOSE: To exclude the danger of microbe pollution by providing a chamber storing an antibacterial material, and penetrating an outlet wall, the inside of the chamber holding the antibacterial liquid, and an inlet wall directly connected to a container of the liquid to be perfused with the inlet needle of a catheter. CONSTITUTION: This connecting device is constituted of a chamber 12 formed with a cylindrical glass and a rigid or semi-rigid polyethylene or other plastic body, and rubber plugs 13, 14 are provided at end sections. A tubular needle 15 can penetrate the plugs 13, 14, and a part of a connecting element 16 connected to a duct 2 is formed. The chamber 12 has one free end at one end, and the plug 14 is accessible to be penetrated by the needle 15. The connection section of a duct 17 is formed at the other end of the chamber 12. The other plug 13 is arranged at the prescribed distance from one plug 14 to be likewise penetrated by the needle 15. The connecting element 16 holds an antibacterial material capable of neutralizing the action of microbes. Iodoalcohol or a similar material can be used for the antibacterial material.
