摘要
A portion of a steel sheet moves in front of three reference points. These are aligned in a reference direction parallel to a bank of rollers on which the sheet moves. The reference points are equidistant and an optical gauge at each one measures the distance between the reference and successive points on the sheet. At an initial time the gauges measure initial distances while at a second instant they measure the new distances. The time difference is chosen so that the points pass to the next gauge. The distances are measured simultaneously in a time sufficiently short that the sheet can be considered as stationary. These measurements allow the straightness indice to be calculated.
