Ground rubber with particle size of 0.5mm is pre-warmed to 140-160 deg.C in an extruder. The de-vulcanising process is completed in the extruder head, by inducing a turbulent flow to increase the friction between the granules. Finally, the de-vulcanised granules are cooled. - The proposed tool is a perforated disc placed in the extruder head. The openings in the disc are such that at the extruder screw side, of the relations h:R = D:d = 3(+/-)10% and 'a' = 15 degrees are satisfied. - d = diameter of the conical part of the opening; D = greatest diameter of the opening; R = length of the opening, measured from the highest point of the circular rib formed at the shoulder of the conical part of the opening. 'a' = angle of the conical part of the opening.
