An improvement to the protective coatings against corrosion and oxidation when heated of prebaked anode studs and of the emerging part of these anodes intended for electrolysis cells for the production of aluminium by the Hall-Héroult process, according to Claim 1 of the main patent. The coating consists of a mixture of lime aluminate cement with a low content of interfering impurities, which has an alumina content of at least 70% and of magnesium spinel, these being bound with water, in the following proportions: Lime aluminate cement: 10 - 99.9% Alumina: 0 to 80% Magnesium spinel: 0 to 10% Water: 10 to 80% of the total weight of the solids content.
