The polyether antibiotic A80190 and its salts and acyl, alkyl ester, acyl ester and urethane derivatives of the formula IMAGE in which R is hydrogen or -CONHR1 and R1 is alkyl, aryl, alkylaryl, arylalkyl, halogenoaryl, nitroaryl, halogenoarylalkyl, alkoxyaryl, aryloxyaryl, arylcycloalkyl, acylaryl or cycloalkyl, are useful agents for enhancing food conversion in animals. The compounds i are also useful antibacterial and anticoccidial agents, either alone or in synergistic mixtures with nicarbazin, 4,4'-dinitrocarbanilide, certain naphthaleneamine and benzeneamine compounds or metichloropindol. A8090 is prepared by the submerged aerobic culture of Actinomadura oligospora NRRL 15877 or NRRL 15878.
