1,5-Diphenylpyrazole-3-carboxylic acid derivatives of the formula …IMAGE… in which Ra and Rb independently of one another each denote halogen, C1-C5-alkyl, C1-C5-haloalkyl, C2-C5-alkenyl, C2-C5-alkynyl or cyano, n denotes zero or a number from 1 to 3 and OR1 denotes hydroxyl, a phytophysiologically tolerable salt or any desired ester radical, are able specifically to antagonise the phytotoxic action of phenoxypropionic acid ester herbicides of the formula II …IMAGE… in which G denotes …IMAGE… Hal1 denotes fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine or trifluoromethyl, Hal2 denotes hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, bromine or trifluoromethyl, Z denotes nitrogen or methine (-CH=), X denotes an oxygen or sulphur atom, R1 denotes halogen, trifluoromethyl, nitro, cyano, C1-C4-alkyl or C1-C4-alkoxy and n denotes 0, 1, 2 or 3 and T denotes an ester, amide, cyanoamide or oxime radical, compositions, containing these components, as selective herbicides and the use of these two active compounds to control weeds in crops of useful plants are described, and also novel 1,5-diphenylpyrazole-3-carboxylic acid derivatives corresponding to the formula I and their preparation.
