Broken-through bulkhead in offshore deck structure

To make the bulkhead, triangular openings (20a,20b) are cut out with rounded corners (21) in pairs from a flat plate (22), so that the two bases (23) in a pair of triangles are lcoated adjacently to one another, and parallel to a diagonal running over the plate plane. This causes a diagonal plate strip (14) to be formed which separates teh two triangles, and which takes up pressure and/or tractional stresses in the structure. The plate (22) is then joined to adjoining decks (17,18), webs, and bulkheads.
