The cannula is of the type which is introduced via a tracheotomy hole in the patient's windpipe. It is connected to a breathing ventilator to assist patients who have reduced breathing power. The cannula includes an outer tube of silicone rubber with a speech hole. It can be cut to the length suitable for the patient's windpipe shape. There is an inner tube and a sealing sleeve which is glued around the distal part of the outer tube. It is connected to the tube and a pump is used to inflate it so that it can seal the windpipe.
